Each unit brings eight new words and a point of grammar, and the units climb your language's official levels all the way to the top. The lessons are short: you read, listen, build sentences, type and speak, and anything you miss comes back until you get it right.
Warm, bored, teasing or prickly, her mood carries from line to line, and she notices a thoughtless remark. Type anything you like. Stuck? Ask for three lines you could say next, or type what you mean, half in your own language if you need to, and get three correct ways to say it.
While she replies, a teacher goes over your line in red pen, in the notebook beside the conversation. Endings, verb forms, word order, the word that was nearly right: each fix comes with its reason and the way a native speaker would say it.
Tap any word to see what it means, and it goes straight into your notebook with its forms and an example sentence. The words the teacher corrected go in too, ready to practice.
You read it, hear it, recall it from your own language, say it aloud, fit it into a sentence and build its sentence word by word. Once it passes all six, it comes back for review after a day, then two, three, five and eight, so it stays with you.
Ask your tutor about any rule. She takes one idea at a time, builds the examples from your own mistakes and keeps a notebook on you, so each session starts from what you already know. Every session leaves you study notes to come back to.

A new alphabet is what stops most people before they start. Letters teaches Cyrillic, kana and the rest in small sets, with a bar under each one showing how well you know it.
Every drill that asked you to type an answer can be answered by choosing one instead — and a chosen answer counts for half a step, because recognizing a word isn't the same as being able to write it.
