AnimeLang

Terms

The short version: pay monthly, use it for learning, your work stays yours.

Last updated 19 September 2026.

Who you're dealing with

AnimeLang is run by a sole proprietor in Texas, United States. You can reach them at hello@animelang.com.

What you get

Until AnimeLang opens to everyone, accounts are by invitation. A first subscription starts with seven days free. Starting them takes a card, which isn't charged during them; if you cancel before they end, you pay nothing at all. The free days are for a first subscription only.

After the free days, a subscription costs $12 a month, plus any sales tax or VAT due where you live, and renews every month until you cancel.

The sale is made through Link, Stripe's merchant-of-record service. Link takes the payment, works out and pays the tax, and its own terms cover the purchase; your checkout shows them. These terms cover the service itself.

Canceling and refunds

You can cancel at any time, from Billing in Settings or from your Link account. If you cancel during the free days, you are never charged. After that, canceling stops the next payment, and you keep access until the end of the month you have paid for. Canceling doesn't refund the month you are in.

Questions and refund requests about a payment go to Link, which handles them under its own policy and any cooling-off period the law where you live gives you. You can also write to us.

Fair use

Each account has a monthly allowance of model time, shown in Settings, which is set well above what daily practice uses. It exists to stop one account running up an unbounded bill, not to ration ordinary learning. If you reach it, practice pauses until the next month; write to us and we will usually raise it.

The account is for one person. Please don't share sign-in details, resell access, or use the service to generate content unrelated to language learning.

Your handle is seen by everyone who follows you. Please don't pick one that pretends to be someone else or is meant to offend; if you do, we may change it.

Your work is yours

Everything you write and everything your notebook holds belongs to you. You can export all of it at any time, including after you stop paying, and you keep read access to it. We claim no ownership of what you write.

What we can't promise

The characters, corrections and explanations are produced by language models. They are usually good and are sometimes wrong. Nothing here is a substitute for a qualified teacher, and it should not be relied on where accuracy really matters — a translation for official use, for instance.

The service is provided as it is. It may occasionally be unavailable, and the model providers behind it may change.

Ending it

You can stop at any time. We may close an account that breaks these terms, and will say why and give you a chance to export your work first.
